Korea Tour Day 7

God's Image Ministry

If I could explain this whole day into one word, I would use the word “joy”! I couldn’t help but carry a huge smile on my face while filming and taking pictures today. We first visited a beautiful facility for the special needs and orphans called Kkottongnae. Here, we had the amazing opportunity to bless them with our songs and dances. What I loved most about Kkottongnae was when the audience was able to dance with us for our last song! Our GI kids had tears in their eyes as they held the hands of joyful audience—singing and dancing together. Our hearts were filled!

We then headed to the country side of S. Korea and visited another home for the special needs called the Sunrise House. The beautiful thing about this visit was that we didn’t have any special lighting or mic systems and probably had the smallest stage to perform on, but we had such a powerful praise session with the audience. We sang together, danced together and best of all praised the Lord together. After a good long drive, we made it home. Nicole and I were the last ones to come in and it was then when all the GI kids and staff surprised Nicole with a loud “happy birthday”! I would have to say it was quite successful! The night ended with yummy snacks, spicy ramen and hearts filled with joy! It was a great day!

p.s. Thank you everyone that has been praying for us. God has been doing an amazing thing here not only to those that we are performing for, but also within us as well. His grace has been so evident and tangible. Thank you!

Korea Tour Day 6

God's Image Ministry

I’ll keep this update short and let the pictures speak for itself. Today consisted of good food at a rest stop, snacks, two performances for crazy awesome soldiers, fun at chim chil bang, and a night concert at Panam Church. God moved in us and through us as usual. Thank you Lord!!

Korea Tour Day 5

God's Image Ministry

The days go by so fast here.. Because we have multiple concerts in one day, all of the days get jumbled up and we can't seem to keep track! Day 5 was a lot like that. We had two concerts in one day. One at Koh Jahn Church and another at Dong Kwang Church. It was awesome as usual: the kids did great, God moved mightily on stage and behind the scenes, and people were blessed! We always receive an amazing amount of love and blessings whenever we perform at a church, but the amount of love and service we received at Dong Kwang Church was just completely insane. Whenever we perform, the kids need a place to change their uniforms. However, because the closest room to change in was two floors up, the church had BUILT changing rooms JUST for the kids. Beautifully hand-constructed with wood, it had everything from doors to a curtain on the inside.. We were amazed and awestruck by the amount of sacrifice and love they had poured out onto us. We were so blessed not just because of the physical changing room itself, but the heart and thought behind it. THANK YOU DONG KWANG CHURCH!! One million times thank you.

This tour is different than many of the others tours in many ways. But the biggest difference is our spiritual mentality. We know how real our God is and therefore know how real the enemy is. Satan has been working OVERTIME against us. It's crazy to know and crazy to experience the opposition. However, our God is GREATER and STRONGER and He cares for us. We have experienced so many attacks from the enemy, both physical and spiritual, but every single time, God was faithful. The power of prayer is so evident during this tour and we cannot thank you enough (to those who are reading) for praying for us back at home. The kids may be the ones on the stage, but it would not be possible without the prayer and support from those back at home. We thank you and we love you.

Korea Tour Day 3 + 4

God's Image Ministry

Hellooo everybody! I really don't know how to start these blogs, but I guess I'll start with introducing myself! My name is Alex Her, and I am one of the team 2 teachers. Man.. I really don't know where to begin... For our first performance, we went to Hyundai High School. Now, this concert on the surface didn't seem like that great of a concert. Some people were sleeping, talking, and weren't really paying attention. I felt really discouraged and worried for the kids. I've been on that performing side before, and I know that its very difficult to worship when the crowd isn't really reciprocating. However, the team 2 kids were really giving it their all on the stage and then I was reminded that we are worshipping an audience of one. Not for man, not for ourselves, but for God. I saw everyone really worshipping with their hearts and not just their lips. I felt so proud of them, and as a leader, I was just humbled. I am always learning something from these kids and I still have a long way to go. My heart goes out to them and I want to continue to serve them as best as I can, and most of all, serve my God.

This is Eric. He recently received Christ only about 10 months ago after being deported from the US. His testimony is powerful and his heart is so real. His life is an amazing testament of God's grace and sovereignty and this is just a little snippet of us singing to him to bless and encourage him. This song, translated, is saying that God will never give up on you. Please pray for Eric as he fights the good fight and continues to live for God. Please pray that his faith will be strengthened as time goes by and please pray that his foundation will be solidified in Christ. Satan will probably try to bring Eric down, but our God is greater.

Korea Tour Day 2

God's Image Ministry

Our God is not stifled by a need for resources. Yesterday, He proved that to us again. While humans can only produce and muster out of their own limited abilities, God can overcome our restraints to use us for mighty works. So despite a lack of practice, despite jet lag, despite a lack of focus and even our own lack of spiritual readiness as a ministry, God continues to use us mightily and is always faithful to cover up our flaws with His glory. Today, we had our first two concerts. The kids were a little nervous and unfocused for the first but were much more confident and assured in the second. The audience was amazing and there's no doubt in our minds that God worked. Please continue to keep us in your prayers, that the members would stay united, the staff would stay inspired and motivated and that God would continuously be glorified throughout the remaining duration of this mission. We're excited for the new testimonies that will spring about from this tour and can't wait to share it with you guys!

Korea Tour Day 1

God's Image Ministry

From 12 PM to 1 AM LA time, we were high up in the sky making our way to SOUTH KOREA! What a day. It was definitely tiring, but we are praying that we don't let that get to us. Today was filled with goodbyes, some tears, lots of selfies, a 13 hour plane ride, and dinner at Home Plus. If anyone was wondering, the weather here was 77 degrees! A little humid but surprisingly very nice! Luckily we came to Korea just in time to escape the 100 degree heat wave.  Everyone at home, please pray for us. We need all the prayer we can get.

Prayer requests:

  1. Unity within the team. Two weeks with constant performing in a foreign land can get tiring. Although we are with people we love, our discomfort can get the best of us and satan can easily attack. Please pray that we are united as one team under God's lead.
  2. Attitude of thankfulness. It's easy to get distracted by the negative circumstances around us, but please pray that we would not get hindered by that. Please pray that we would focus on the amazing things and opportunities that the Lord has provided and help us to live every day with gratitude in our hearts.
  3. Safety and health. We will be on the road for many hours at a time. Please pray for our safety. Please for the bus drivers that will be tirelessly driving for hours on end. Please pray for the amazing mommies that will be serving us and for the dedicated staff members (from Korea and LA) that are giving their time for us.
  4. Holy Spirit to work in our hearts and of audience's hearts. As much as it is an outreach mission trip, I firmly believe that God will work in our own hearts as well. So please pray for an abundance of God's grace. We want God to move in our hearts. We want God to encounter our students and really move them to love Him more.

Thank you everyone for your support and love. We wouldn't be here without you! Here are some pictures of our day. Enjoy and stay tuned for future updates. We love you guys!
